1 Simple Way We’re Saving the Environment

We live in a day and age of great technological achievements. We’ve put a man on the moon and robots on Mars; we have lightning fast, wireless internet in the palms of our hands; we’ve even developed the technology to create hoverboards!

But perhaps the greatest advance in technology in our lifetimes has been the creation of the digital platform known as the computer. The computer has allowed us to do many things, but more than anything, it helps us streamline and simplify our lives.

Thanks to the computer, we have the ability to digitize everything! As for 1 simple way we’re saving the environment? Well, in 2015 we’re going green with our catalogs!

That’s right! We will no longer be printing our catalogs. Instead, we are keeping them all digital by putting them on CDs to hand out at trade shows, as well as putting them online for you to access quickly and easily! This way, when you want to look up a product, you don’t have to worry about digging around to find a catalog. Instead, it will always be online for you to view at any time.

Plus, we’re saving trees. Last year we printed 6,600 catalogs, with 113 pages in all of our catalogs combined.  That’s 745,800 pieces of paper total! Most paper is made from pine trees, and the average pine tree can produce about 80,000 pieces of paper. That means this year we kept 10 whole trees out in the wide world from being chopped down!

So that’s how to save the environment! What are your thoughts about going green?  Let us know in the comments below, and don’t forget to subscribe for more news and updates from The Science Hub!
